Introduction of iContinuing Education (iCE)
- iContinuing education (iCE) on Viral Hepatitis is an online self-study education programme run by the Viral Hepatitis Control Office, Department of Health.
- It aims at providing a selection of free, regularly updated continuing education activities on viral hepatitis and related subjects for doctors, nurses, other health professionals and workers.
- The content may include updates in prevention and treatment, practice guidelines/ recommendations, surveillance reports, meeting presentations, etc.
- iCE activities will be uploaded regularly, around 1 to 2 per year.
- Each activity consists of two parts:
- ( 1 ) reading an article or educational material related to viral hepatitis, and
- ( 2 ) answering 10 multiple choice questions.
- Each iCE activity takes approximately one hour.
Assessment
- Participants have to submit the completed answer sheet within the specified validity period for Continuing Medical Education (CME) / Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) / Continuing Education in Midwifery (CEM) accreditation, by email to hepatitis@dh.gov.hk.
- Score of 70% or above is required for accreditation of CME/CNE/CEM point.
- Assessment result will be informed by email.
- Model answers will be sent to participants who have passed the assessment.
- Retake of assessment is allowed within the specified validity period.
